Ballwin Days parade

Yesterday, we got up and out early to take in the Ballwin Days parade, right down Manchester Road.

It's an interesting event... It's got your standard parade fare:

Firetrucks. Pompom girls.

Beauty queens. Ummm... Falun Gong groups?

Huge yellow pythons? Giant shopping carts?

Guys dressed up as printer cartridges?

Yes, there was all that, and more. Cheerful people walked along and handed the kids candy. And political stickers. And leis. And coupons for electrical work. And free samples of shampoo.

And, strangely enough, they only closed the westbound lanes of Manchester Road. Meaning the eastbound traffic whizzed right along on the other side of the street. I was sure one of the Shriners in the little cars was going to swerve into the path of an oncoming SUV! Disaster! But, it never happened.
