A jumble of fun at City Museum

Tuesday was the second grade's big field trip to City Museum, an old factory downtown converted to an industrial wonderland for kids (and grownups) to explore.

There's never been anything quite like it. It's nearly impossible to describe! But, I hope these pictures help...

Emilyn and I teamed up with her friend Sarah. Nine parents came from our class, so the groups were nice and small... (Easy to lose track of a kid in City Museum!) Everyone had a great, if exhausting, time. And we only got to see about a third of the place!

How crowded was it? Is it better/different than the science center or Magic House?

It was very crowded, but there were at least five other school field trips. And lots of BIG kids. High schoolers. So, I'm thinking a nice late-winter weekday morning might be good. But, when my sister comes to visit again, we're definitely going. Crowds be darned.

It's like the Magic House on crack, really. It's extreme, like roller derby. It's not about safety. It's hard surfaces and pointy edges. It's not for the faint of heart.
